**crutches for Romania’s elders
**As Sighisoara is quite a touristic city in Romania due to its well preserved walled old town - and as the birth place of famous Dracula :), and this woman’s house is central, I presume she is fed up with all the photographers taking pictures of her house’s colourful walls.
However, don’t know how many of them had the curiosity to stop and talk to her.
Her story is sad, and not different from many stories of the old people living in Romania. Athough I didn’t know how to help, I talked to her for a while. Romania treats her pensioners very badly, medical services are very poor, and money never enough.
Somehow I feel guilty for taking this kind of pictures and not doing anything consistent for this woman or for other people that I generally encounter. I try to just make a consistent body of work, and create a solid documentary, and maybe that’s my part. But it’s never, never enough.
